SKETCHING IN THE KIMBERLEY

ITINERARY

Day 1: Broome                                                                                         Overnight Broome

Activities arranged around arrival times.

Day 2: Broome - Derby                                                                              Overnight Derby

Full day to explore the Broome area. Activities include visit to Cable Beach, the Japanese Cemetary, Gantheaume Point and China Town. In the afternoon we travel to Derby.

Day 3: Derby - Fitzroy Crossing                                              Overnight Fitzroy Crossing

Tour Derby including the Prison Tree, Windjana Gorge, Geikie Gorge Cruise. Explore and opportunities to sketch around the old Fitzroy Crossing town.

Day 4: Fitzroy Crossing - Bungle Bungles                               Overnight Bungle Bungles

Travel through to the Bungle Bungle Ranges visiting Halls Creek and the Ord River.

Day 5: Bungle Bungles                                                                 Overnight Bungle Bungles

A day tour of Purnululu National Park that includes Echidna Chasm, Cathedral Gorge and Piccaninny Gorge. There will be plenty of time to explore and sketch the beehives. There is the optional opportunity of a scenic helicopter flight.

Day 6: Bungle Bungles - El Questro                                                 Overnight El Questro

Visit Turkey Creek, with stops to enjoy the Kimberley scenery. Travel the start of the Gibb River Road to enjoy the stunning scenery of El Questro's million wild acres, including scenery from Baz Luhrmann's movie, Australia.

Day 7: El Questro                                                                                Overnight El Questro

After breakfast we have the opportunity to enjoy a dip at Zebedee Springs - a hot thermal pool surrounded by Livistonia Palms. During the afternoon, experience the fun and adventure of driving our own boats up Chamberlain Gorge before watching the sunset from Australia's most beautiful lookout.

Day 8: El Questro - Kununurra                                                         Overnight Kununurra

After a relaxed morning enjoying the scenery we travel down to the Pentecost River. After crossing the river we will have an opportunity to sketch one of the most well known scenes of the Kimberley, the Pentecost River Crossing with the Mt Cockburn Range as the background.

Day 9: Kununurra

Tour ends/or full day tour including the Ord Irrigation area, Zebra Rock Gallery, Mellon Farm and Mirima National Park.
