INDIA

 

Our tour begins in Kochin (Cochin) on the south-west coast of India, where you will be met at the airport. From Cherai Beach, we transfer to Alleppey and board our luxury rice boat. Floating through the sleepy backwaters, experience and sketch Indian villages on small islands, water buffalo and floating markets.

 

A traditional cooking class is enjoyed after a visit to the Dutch Palace in Cochin.

 

 

Travelling into the high mountain area at the Cardamon Hills, the weather is crisp and fresh and the scenery is stunning. See the rice, spice and tea plantations and the lush tropical vegetation. Here there will be a botanical drawing workshop.

Wild elephants  can be seen at the nearby Periyar Wildlife Sanctury in their natural environment and a sunset boat ride reveals untamed animals coming to drink at the waterside.

The tour heads back to Kochin, where we stay at the Old Fort area, see the famous fishing nets at sunset and enjoy the wonderful local seafood.
