Enjoy a week sketching in the stunning Northern Rivers area of New South Wales. Immerse yourself in the lush valleys, meandering rivers and pristine coastlines. Catch glimpses of Mt.Warning , Mt. Chincogan and the Border Ranges, part of the Great Dividing Range along the way.
Mt. Warning is considered to be one of the most important shield volcanoes in the world. It is also home to many rare species of native orchids and ferns. Our farmers still enjoy the benefits of cultivating their crops on rich, red volcanic soil. Once dominated by the dairy industry, the area has now diversified to include sugar can farming, macadamia nut production and tourism.
This scenic tour explores the region and there will be opportunities to sketch local landscapes, rivers, beaches and historic buildings. The tour culminates at Tweed Regional Art Gallery where we visit the reconstructed home of the magnificent artist Margaret Olley.
